I’m BACK, people! Look out! I cannot believe it has been two years. I think when I left you, dearest WordPress journal, I was moving to the country in the backwoods of Wisconsin. After that season we moved to a small, weird Illinois town where we began farming on our own. Essentially, we were far from urban. Maybe I just felt I had nothing to say on the urban farming front.
Well, we are alittle more urban now. Alittle urban, alittle country, and with dash of suburbia, actually. (Some people would argue that my ratio is messed up, but I digress.) We live in a small house with a small yard three miles from an organic farming community where we are renting land. We have our own farm now. Someday we will stop renting and actually have land of our own, so we can truly do all of the permaculture projects we want.
I am thinking, especially since we have a very small yard, I can do some experimenting with small urban growing projects. That is my idea, anyway. I also have a camera now so pix will be posted. Oh, so much has changed for us, dear readers!
Re-reading these entries is like digging up a time capsule. I can’t believe I’m raving about Micheal Pollan and explaining what the word “locavore” means. Seriously, how DATED, right? Well, it’s been very neglected, but fun for me to read my old entries again. Now that it is winter I am writing like a madwoman in a cooped-up attic. Hopefully I can keep on with that pattern!
